Retail Media has become one of the largest disruptions in the history of advertising. Analysts expect the global Retail Media market to exceed $300 billion by 2030, representing nearly one-fourth of total global advertising spend.
But there is a major problem: while Retail Media exploded online, physical stores - where around 90% of shopping is still expected to happen well into the next decade - still lack the technological capabilities required to participate in this transformation at the same level.
Most in-store advertising today still operates like the internet did twenty years ago:
static screens, no audience intelligence, no real-time targeting, and almost no measurable performance.
We are changing that. Advertima created and leads the category of In-store Audience Intelligence that will transform the media space within the next five years.
Using Computer Vision, edge computing, distributed AI systems, and privacy-by-design infrastructure, we transform physical retail environments into real-time, data-driven media channels.
Our technology captures what happens in physical stores in real time, translates physical shoppers into anonymized digital audiences, and enables these audiences to be measured, segmented, targeted, forecasted, and activated across Retail Media channels.
This is not an incremental improvement. We believe the market is massively underestimating how much advertising spend will shift into stores once physical retail environments gain the same audience intelligence and performance capabilities that transformed online advertising.
And this shift will not only come from online Retail Media or traditional media categories. We believe advertising funds will increasingly move from across the broader media ecosystem - including Search, Social, DOOH, and other traditional media - into physical retail environments once stores get real-time performance media capabilities.
At Advertima, we created the category and are leading this transition on a global level.
Our systems already operate across global retail networks with companies such as Walmart, Carrefour, FairPrice, SPAR, and EDEKA. We are scaling from hundreds and thousands of deployed edge AI devices toward a global infrastructure layer for in-store Retail Media.
The technical challenge behind this is massive: real-time Computer Vision, audience prediction, edge AI, cloud APIs, distributed fleet management, privacy-by-design architecture, system reliability, and integration into the global AdTech ecosystem.

Your role…
Lead the Technology Organization
You will lead Advertima’s full Technology organization and report directly to the CEO.
You will be responsible for building, scaling, and operating the technical foundation of the company across:
- Vision AI
- Audience AI
- Software Engineering
- Platform Engineering
- Site Reliability
- DevOps / MLOps
- Fleet Management
- Edge- and Cloud APIs
- Edge infrastructure
- Hardware & Network
Your mission is to continuously evolve Advertima’s technology to support scalable, reliable, secure, and globally distributed enterprise deployments.
Own the Technical Strategy
You will define and own Advertima’s technology strategy together with the co-founding CEO and CPO, and the technical leadership team.
This includes architectural direction, platform scalability, technical priorities, build-versus-buy decisions, engineering standards, reliability principles, and long-term technology bets.
You are the person who makes sure the company’s strategic ambition is technically possible, technically scalable, and technically defensible.
Build the Operating System of Physical Retail Media
Advertima is not building another SaaS dashboard. We are building a real-world infrastructure layer that connects physical retail environments with the digital advertising ecosystem.
That means your organization must master the full technical chain:
- capturing physical shoppers through Computer Vision
- transforming physical-world signals into privacy-safe audience intelligence
- running AI inference on edge devices
- managing distributed hardware fleets
- exposing reliable cloud APIs
- integrating with CMS, SSP, DSP, and Retail Media platforms
- ensuring uptime, observability, security, and scalability across global deployments
Scale Engineering from Deep-Tech to Enterprise Infrastructure
You will lead the transition from a deep-tech company with strong innovation capabilities into a scalable technology organization that can support global enterprise customers.
Your focus will be:

Lead and Upgrade the Technical Leadership Team
You will lead and develop the heads of Vision AI, Audience AI, Software Engineering, Platform Engineering, and related technical functions.
You will attract senior technical talent, raise the bar across the organization, and make sure our strongest engineers can do the best work of their careers.
This role requires someone who can lead strong technical personalities, challenge weak thinking, remove complexity, and create a high-performance engineering culture.
Own Architecture, Reliability, and Delivery
You will ensure that our technology works in thousands of stores, across countries, retailers, hardware setups, network conditions, CMS environments, and AdTech integrations.
You will take ownership of:
- system architecture
- edge and cloud scalability
- reliability and uptime
- deployment processes
- observability
- security
- privacy-by-design execution
- technical delivery
The goal is simple: Advertima’s technology must work reliably at global scale.
Partner Across Product, Commercial, and Delivery
You will work closely with Product, Customer Success, Delivery, Market Development, and Commercial teams.
Together with the CEO and the leadership team, you will define the company strategy. Product translates market needs and the company strategy into product direction. Technology defines how we build the infrastructure that makes this strategy real.
You will ensure that technology is not isolated from the market, but directly connected to customer reality, commercial priorities, and deployment complexity.

Educational Background
Advance degree (MSc or PhD preferred) in:
- Computer Vision
- Computer Science
- Robotics
- Artificial Intelligence
Experience
- 10+ years of senior technology leadership experience
- Proven experience as CTO, VP Engineering, Head of Engineering, or similar senior role
- Experience scaling deep-tech, AI, edge, IoT, infrastructure, or enterprise software platforms
- Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering organizations
- Experience moving complex technology from innovation into reliable global production
Technical Depth
You do not need to be the best specialist in every domain, but you must be technically strong enough to challenge, guide, and lead experts across:

Experience with systems-level engineering and high-performance programming languages such as Rust or C++, hardware-aware optimization, and enterprise SaaS/API platforms is highly valuable.
You understand technical trade-offs deeply and can make hard architectural decisions under real business constraints.
